I’m currently trying to port my Monk application to Unity3d in order to publish it to several stores using the same code.
My previous attempt was to use Xamarin and that’s why I started to use MvvmCross and getting it ready to start with Xamarin Android and iOS. I have to say that the app is already published in Windows Phone and Windows Stores using MvvmCross (which I highly recommend) but, just by chance, when I started facing other platforms development I stumbled uppon Unity3d and automatically fell in love with it.
Today I’m going to explain to all of you how I managed to pass the Windows Store Certification using Sqlite and MvvmCross.
During my first attempts I received several errors when trying to pass the certification kit and, even once I managed to pass the kit, then the Store rejected my packages stating that there was some errors in my referenced dlls.
Today I’ve found an issue with Fast App Switching in Windows Phone 8 while using MvvmCross.
The main problem is that MvvmCross navigation model will not be enough to make it work. When resuming the app, MvvmCross will correctly load the view and the viewmodel. However, the system will launch a navigating event that won’t be handled by MvvmCross and you will end up with a navigation error or a view loaded without datacontext, depending on your app’s configuration, as the navigation event that the system will launch will be directing your navigation to whatever page you have set in your project’s WMAppManifest.xml file.
Have you found this error when developing your application and you don’t know why? Look carefully for any literal in your XAML and surely you will find an undesired white space. Remove it and you’re free to go on.
Hi, I’m currently working in a new app using the amazing MVVMCross framework and Xamarin. The objective is to share the largest quantity of code amongst all platform specific projects. I’m currently aiming Windows Phone 7.5, Windows 8, Android and iOS.
You have some different ways to organize your solution in order to share code.
Hi to everyone, after experiencing some issues with the Windows Phone Store people my third app has been finally published. I’ve been forced to change the name of the application and remove any reference to banking in it because they wouldn’t have published otherwise.
Ridiculous, if we have into account that there are lots of apps out there in the WP Store that store bank account numbers and credit cards.
Today I needed to load some external xaml into a custom control I was working on. During my search for ways to accomplish the task I’ve found some information, but most of the time it was not really useful. That’s why I will try to expose in this post the options you’ve got to do the job and, finally, I will show you how I solved the situation using a converter.
